Known to unfold its leaves 1-2 weeks before other beeches. In 1914, forest supervisor O. Bondo cut the leafing date in the bark and he continued doing so the following 40 years. The earliest leafing was15.April 1945.

Generally known as Datobøgen. Today remains only a hollow, burned stump.
